Adrian Wooldridge, global business columnist for Bloomberg Opinion, is a British journalist, author and political commentator. He worked for The Economist for thirty-two years, writing, successively, the Lexington, Schumpeter and Bagehot columns, and serving as Washington correspondent and then Washington bureau chief in 2000-2010. His books cover topics ranging from the history of the company to the global race to reinvent the state, a critique of management theory and the ‘witch doctors’ who promote it, and how meritocracy made the modern world.  See his bio here.
