Ann Bernstein, executive director of the Centre for Development and Enterprise (CDE), spoke on the SABC News Full View programme about the opportunity South Africa has to transform government and the economy. Bernstein recently launched CDE’s AGENDA 2024, a project outlining the five urgent priority areas that the new government, once established, needs to focus on in its first 180 days in office. She said, “We have to put growth as a top priority for the new government and everything has to be judged against that… If we can get the state and markets working together, we can perform miracles”. CDE will be releasing reports on various catalytic actions within the five priority areas in the coming weeks.
